FAQ
Fast Life Customs FAQ
Q: Do your parts fit my car
A: Every product page lists the exact model and year range. If you are unsure, send your registration or VIN and we will confirm it quickly.
Q: What is real carbon fiber
A: Real carbon fiber uses woven carbon cloth and resin. It is light and strong. Cheaper alternatives use plastic with a printed pattern. We always state the exact material on each product.
Q: What is forged carbon
A: Forged carbon uses chopped fibres pressed into a mould. It has a random pattern and is just as strong as regular carbon.
Q: Will my airbag work with a carbon steering wheel
A: Yes. You reuse your original airbag and controls. Disconnect the battery before fitting. If unsure, use a trained installer.
Q: Will my MOT be affected
A: Cosmetic mods do not affect MOT. Steering wheels are fine if the airbag works. Exterior parts are fine if they are secured properly.
Q: Are carbon steering wheels safe
A: Yes. They match or exceed factory strength. Any part involving airbags should be fitted by a technician.
Q: How long is delivery
A: Most orders arrive in seven to fourteen days. Custom items may take longer.
Q: Do you ship worldwide
A: Yes. Shipping prices appear at checkout. Tracking is provided when the item ships.
Q: What tools do I need to install a steering wheel
A: Usually Torx bits, a socket set and plastic trim tools. Always disconnect the battery before touching the airbag.
Headlights and Lighting Mods
Q: Are aftermarket headlights plug and play
A: Many are plug and play but some require coding, resistors or adapters. Check the product page or ask before buying.
Q: Will LED indicators flash too fast
A: Some cars need resistors or coding to fix hyper flashing. This depends on the model.
Q: Are tinted headlights legal
A: Light tint films are usually fine as long as the beam output is not blocked. Very dark tints can fail MOT.
Q: Do sequential indicators need coding
A: Most are plug and play. Some cars may need a quick reset through the battery or a scan tool.
Exterior Mods
Q: How do I install a spoiler or diffuser
A: Most spoilers use adhesive tape or bolts. Diffusers bolt into the original mounting points. A local garage can fit them quickly.
Q: Will fitting a splitter make the car scrape
A: Lowered cars or steep driveways may cause scraping. Drive at an angle when approaching bumps.
Q: Will side skirts fall off in bad weather
A: If fitted correctly they stay secure. Always clean the surface, warm the tape and press firmly.
Q: Are stick on parts safe
A: Yes when installed on a clean and dry surface. Use strong tape and follow the instructions.
Wheels, Spacers and Suspension
Q: Are wheel spacers safe
A: Hub centric spacers are safe when installed correctly. Make sure you use the correct length bolts.
Q: Will spacers affect MOT
A: Usually no, as long as the wheels do not stick out past the arches.
Q: Will lowering springs ruin ride comfort
A: Lowering springs make the ride firmer. Comfort depends on the brand and drop height.
Q: Can I run wider tyres on my stock wheels
A: Yes within limits. Too wide and they may rub. Contact us if you want size advice.
Exhaust and Engine Mods
Q: Will a new exhaust make the car faster
A: Most cat back systems are mainly for sound. Performance gains are usually small unless paired with tuning.
Q: Are pops and bangs legal
A: Pops and bangs maps can fail emissions tests. Check your local rules before tuning.
Q: Do intake mods add power
A: Some do, some do not. Many people install them for sound and appearance.
Interior and Electronics
Q: Do carbon paddle shifters change how the car shifts
A: No. They only change the feel and look. The shifting system stays the same.
Q: Do ambient lighting kits drain the battery
A: High quality kits draw very little power. They should not cause problems if installed correctly.
Q: Will fitting a new steering wheel cause warning lights
A: If the airbag or connectors are not plugged in correctly you may get a light. Recheck connections or clear it with a scan tool.
General Modding Questions
Q: Will these mods affect insurance
A: Some insurers want you to declare any modification. Many do not change the price. Every insurer is different.
Q: Can I return to the original parts later
A: Yes. All parts can be removed and replaced with the original items.
Q: How do I clean carbon fibre
A: Use a soft cloth and mild cleaner. Do not use abrasive products.
Q: What is the difference between wet carbon and dry carbon
A: Wet carbon is hand laid and uses resin. Dry carbon is autoclave cured, lighter and stronger.
Q: Do your parts include everything needed
A: Most items include what is needed. Some reuse factory screws or clips. Check each product page for details.
Q: How do I choose the right size spoiler
A: Match it to your exact car model and trim level. Some models have slight shape differences.
